This policy explains what information the Velocity Rides mobile app collects,
why we collect it, and the choices you have over your data.
Effective: 25 July 2026Applies to: Velocity Rides for Android & iOSContact:berreto01@gmail.com
1 Who we are
Velocity Rides (“Velocity”, “we”, “us”) operates a ride-hailing and shared-travel
platform that connects riders with drivers. This Privacy Policy covers the Velocity Rides
mobile application and related services. By using the app, you agree to the practices
described here.
2 Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service safely. This includes:
Information you provide
Phone number — used to create your account and sign you in with a
one-time password (OTP).
Profile details — your name and, where relevant, your role
(rider or driver).
Driver verification documents — if you register as a driver, photos
of identity and vehicle documents you upload for verification, captured with your camera
or chosen from your photo library.
Partner verification documents — if you apply to the Earn with
Velocity partner program, photos of your CNIC and, for paid tiers, a screenshot of your
registration-fee payment.
Payment screenshots — when you settle a commission or outstanding fee,
the payment-receipt screenshot you upload as proof of transfer. These images may show the
amount, the sending account name or number, and the receiving account.
Chat and community content — messages, photos, shared locations, and
contact details you choose to send in trip chat, group chats, or direct messages, and
posts you publish to the community feed. If you use the in-chat contact-sharing feature,
the app accesses your contacts only to let you pick one; your contact list is never
uploaded or stored.
Information collected automatically
Location — precise and approximate location is used while the app is in
use to set pickup points, match nearby rides, show drivers on the map, and enable live
trip tracking. Location is collected only when the app is open and you are using a
location feature.
Nearby activity on the map — while the home screen is open, your
approximate area is used to show other Velocity users that there is activity around them,
as an anonymous dot. This is not live tracking and it does not identify you: the
position is deliberately shifted by a few hundred metres before anyone sees it, and it
carries no name, phone number, photo, account identifier, trip or fare. Nobody can tell
which dot is you, message a dot, or look up who it belongs to. Your last known area stops
being shown once you stop opening the app.
Device & diagnostic information — a device push token and basic
technical data needed to deliver notifications and keep the app working reliably.
Trip activity — pickup and drop-off points, trip status, and fare
estimates generated while you use the service.
Voice input — if you use voice booking, audio is captured only while
the microphone is running and is converted to text by your device's speech-recognition
service. Velocity does not store the audio. See section 6.
Advertising ID — for users who are not on a paid plan, your device's
Google advertising identifier is used to serve and measure ads. See section 7.
Payments
Rides may be paid in cash or, where enabled, through supported local payment methods.
Velocity does not collect or store your full card or bank credentials; regulated payment
details are handled by the applicable payment provider.

3 How we use your information
Create and secure your account and verify drivers.
Match riders and drivers and calculate estimated fares.
Show live location and trip progress during a ride.
Show, anonymously, whether there are cars and other users around you.
Send trip updates, account alerts, and service notifications.
Verify commission and fee payments, including with the automated (AI) check described
in section 5.
Prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and keep the community safe.
Diagnose problems and improve app reliability.
We do not sell your personal information. We do show third-party advertising from
Google AdMob to users who are not on a paid plan, which uses your device's advertising
ID — section 7 sets out exactly what is shared, how to turn off ad personalisation, and
how to remove ads altogether.
4 How information is shared
Between riders and drivers — when a trip is arranged, we share only the
limited details needed to complete it (such as first name, pickup area, and live location
during the ride).
Service providers — we use trusted providers to run the app, including
Google Firebase (notifications and app infrastructure), Google Maps (mapping and
location), and Anthropic (automated payment-screenshot verification, section 5). They
process data only to provide these services to us and are not permitted to use it for
their own purposes, including training AI models.
Advertising — for users who are not on a paid plan, Google AdMob
receives your device's advertising ID to serve and measure ads. Unlike the providers
above, Google uses that data under its own privacy policy rather than solely on our
instructions. See section 7.
Speech recognition — if you use voice booking, the audio goes to your
device's speech-recognition service (Google's, on most Android phones) to be turned into
text. See section 6.
Legal reasons — we may disclose information if required by law or to
protect the rights, safety, or property of users and the public.
5 Automated payment verification (AI)
When you upload a payment screenshot to settle a driver commission or an outstanding
cancellation fee, that screenshot is analysed by an AI vision model operated by
Anthropic to check that it shows a genuine receipt, for the right amount, sent to a
Velocity account. This is disclosed on the upload screen at the moment you submit.
What is shared — only the screenshot you upload and the amount and
account it should match. No other account data, location, or chat content is sent.
Limited use — Anthropic processes the image solely to return a
verification result to us. Under our API terms it is not used to train AI models.
Human review — only a clear, confident match is approved
automatically. Anything uncertain is decided by a member of our team, and if your
payment is declined you can contest the decision by contacting
berreto01@gmail.com — a person, not the AI,
makes the final call.
If you prefer not to have your screenshot processed this way, contact support and we
will verify your payment manually.
6 Voice booking & the microphone
You can book a ride by speaking instead of typing, and drivers can run a small set of
spoken commands. This is optional — everything it does is also available on screen.
The microphone runs only when you start it. Audio is captured from
the moment you tap the microphone button until recognition finishes. There is no
background listening and no wake word.
Speech becomes text using your device's recogniser. The audio is
handed to the speech-recognition service built into your phone. On most Android
devices that service is Google's, and it may send the audio to Google's servers under
Google's own privacy policy. Velocity does not record, upload, or keep the audio, and
never sends it to a Velocity server.
Only the recognised text is used. The words are interpreted on your
device to fill in a destination, pickup point, seat count, or vehicle type. We keep no
transcript beyond the booking you go on to confirm.
Turning it off. Decline the microphone permission, or revoke it later
in Android settings. The rest of the app is unaffected.
7 Advertising
Velocity shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. They are what keeps the app free to use.
Who sees ads. Only users without a paid entitlement. An active
Travel Partner subscription, or a current Pro partner tier, removes ads across the
whole app — not just the section it was bought in.
What Google receives. Your device's advertising ID, together with the
technical data needed to serve and measure an ad. Google uses this under its own privacy
policy rather than solely on our instructions. We do not send Google your phone number,
your name, your trips, or your chat content, and we do not combine the advertising ID
with your Velocity account data.
Consent. Where a choice is legally required — including the EEA and
the UK — a consent form is shown before any ad is requested, and no ads load if consent
is withheld. Ads are limited to a PG content rating.
Your controls. Android lets you delete or reset your advertising ID
and opt out of ad personalisation under Settings → Privacy → Ads. Doing so stops
personalised ads; you may still see non-personalised ones.
8 Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the
service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When data is no longer needed, we
delete or anonymise it.
9 Your rights & account deletion
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time.
To delete your account and associated data, email
berreto01@gmail.com
from your registered email or with your registered phone number. We will verify the
request and delete your account and personal data, except where we are required to retain
certain records by law.
10 Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against
unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely
secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
11 Children
Velocity Rides is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we
will remove it.
12 Third-party services
Our app relies on third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the
“Effective” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the
app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
